Who runs GAUGE
One question sits behind every page on this site: is this worth your money? Here is who answers it, how, and who gets paid what along the way.
What GAUGE is
GAUGE is a men’s style and product-intelligence site. Instead of taste-based listicles, every recommendation carries a Gauge Score — an aggregation of verified-owner review sentiment (40%), spec analysis (30%), twelve-month price tracking (20%) and durability signals (10%). The formula isn’t a black box: it’s published, weight by weight, in the methodology, and every guide is stamped with the date it was last verified and the date it will be reviewed next.
The editor
Mr. Gauge is the founder and editor of GAUGE. He sets the scoring methodology, reviews every guide and the data behind its scores before publication, and signs the verification dates on each page. If a guide is wrong, that’s on him — which is the point of putting a name on it.
How guides are made
Drafts are produced with AI assistance and pass human editorial review — nothing is published without a named sign-off. Scores are computed from aggregated data, not hands-on lab testing, and we say so plainly: the methodology describes exactly which signals go in and how they are weighted. When a guide’s facts age, the review date at the top tells you; when it’s re-verified, the stamp changes.
How GAUGE is funded
Some links on this site earn a commission. Scores and recommendations are locked before any affiliate link is added — a product cannot buy its way into a guide, and a commission has never changed a score. Guides that recommend against buying something stay published even when that costs us money.
